About Us

Southmead Children’s Centre is a lively and inclusive early years setting in the heart of the community that has a commitment to improving outcomes for young children and their families.

We believe that all children have the right to the very best possible start in life and work in partnership with parents and carers to provide a holistic approach, working alongside community groups and health and family support colleagues, who we are fortunate to have based on site.

Southmead Children’s Centre offers free nursery education places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, places for paying childcare, a forest school offer and a range of family support services and activities for mums, dads and carers of children aged from birth to 4 years.

All of the nursery education and childcare sessions are developed around a daily routine, which provides opportunities for the children to work as part of a key group, form new friendships and explore the exciting indoor and outdoor environments Southmead Children’s Centre continually strives to develop.

We encourage children to be independent, support them in their exploration of the world around them and promote a stimulating and communication rich environment.

Outdoor learning is highly valued, which gives children excellent opportunities to learn and explore both the natural and man-made world with the support of staff.
